Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining fame. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped more music via the Internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21 in 2015. The following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 the singer released two new singles entitled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. In February her music video to this track was launched. It has had more than three million YouTube views in just a single week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
